The last time we met StangMode’s ProCharged Ford Mustang GT, it was fresh off the ProCharger Stage II kit upgrade, ready to showcase its other enhancements at the drag strip. And it was doing it in front of a Shelby GT500 that was probably there just to remind said vlogger of “The Hulk,” his own representative of the high-performance breed that had been dialed to around 1,000 horsepower and is now recuperating from a blown engine.
But in the world of YouTubers, there’s no time to dwell on what happened in the past, so it’s no wonder StangMode is merrily taking care of this Mustang GT that he got from somebody who decided the yellow color was too much. That someone didn’t just wrap the car, but also bagged the Ford with help from AirLift and also fitted a rowdy widebody kit.
Still, the StangMode's personality managed to come through – he likes to remind us of his dual-seat configuration for the Blue Oval coupe, a sportier one for the passenger and one that’s a bit comfier for his “old bones.”
On this episode of his YouTube series, we see him calling out a friend of his on a sunny yet chilly winter day. The reason is simple, because the buddy had just taken delivery of a 2021 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and he wanted to check out what’s cooking across the “dark side.” That's how he likes to refer to the Chevy fan base. Naturally, there are some enticing promises of a little action, but more on that in a second.
We start off from the 1:12 mark with a little discussion and walkaround of the exotic Camaro ZL1 – an Orange Crush unit which already has a few tricks up its sleeve, just because the owner is one of those wise guys who like to prepare for modifications in advance of delivery.
Right off the bat, we easily notice the asymmetric wheel choice – 18-inch units up front and 15-inch wheels at the rear with meaty tires. Although it comes upfront with 650 horsepower in stock form, the ZL1 has already been through a modified intake and E85 conversion.
Next up is StangMode’s turn to highlight some of the goodies of the “Bat-Stang” as we also get to check out the interior and a cold start/rev from the ZL1 at the 6:05 mark. The real action kicks off at the 11:52 mark after the two guys discuss upcoming customizations for the cars. That's how and we find out the Mustang GT is now capable of delivering more than 600-wheel horsepower (he just took it to the dyno, check out the second video embedded below).
By the way, everyone here probably knows the outcome of the few pulls they’ll be doing “just for fun" because we’re dealing here not just with a match between a ProCharged Mustang and an E85 Camaro ZL1 but also a fight between a six-speed manual transmission and a lightning-quick ten-speed automatic, respectively.
