Along with the reintroduction of the inline 6-cylinder architecture on the M4, the last M car that had that kind of an engine came back into focus. We’re talking about the BMW E46 M3 that is still regarded as one of the best ever made.
However, as much as we like the E46, we can’t forgive BMW for never making a sedan version of that M3. The one before it had a 4-door version, the E90 afterwards had one and today only the sedan is still called M3, leaving the coupe to the M4 name.

That doesn’t mean that creative people around the world didn’t find way to turn regular E46 3 Series Sedans into M3s. Some focused on swapping an S54 engine under the bonnet while others wanted their cars to only look like an M model.

Even Prior Design offers such an option but with a twist. Instead of creating a body kit with the looks of the E46 M3 for the Sedan (that is already possible with stock parts as BMW made sure of it), they offered a kit that allows you to install E90-style bumpers on your older model.

The kit is made up of a front bumper, a rear bumper and the side skirts, all of them perfectly compatible with the E46 body. While it does sound great at first, we have to admit it looks a bit off. Maybe it’s just the lighting in the photos but something just doesn’t feel right. Check out the gallery and let us know what you think.
