Prior Design 900 HP Hellcat Widebody Is How Europeans Tune the Dodge Challenger

When it comes to muscle behemoths such as the Hellcat, be it a Charger or a Challenger, many mechanical workout fans wonder how much of the fascination generated by these machines is owed to their affordable nature.

There are many potential answers to such a question and they vary from one enthusiast to another, but there's one simple way to determine how important the bang-for-buck is. It all has to do with how such vehicles are viewed over in Europe, where they inevitably lose a part of their affordability aura.

Of course, the situation is not the same for the three most important muscle cars out there. While the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro are officially imported on the Old Continent, we can't say the same about the Dodge Challenger.

So, would Euro aficionados dare tune SRT's 707-pony beast? Certainly, how could they leave Americans have all the fun?

And we're here to show you how a Euro-tuned Dodge Challenger Hellcat is like. We're not just talking about a car nut who commissioned a one-off project. Instead, we are referring to a package developed by German aftermarket developer Prior Design, which also operates in North America.

As it happens on many such occasions, the designation of the custom kit pretty much tells the story of the car. Dubbed PDHC900 Widebody, this is a Hellcat that's been dialed to (you've guessed it) 900 hp. Truth be told, one should expect this exact level of power, since 900 hp seems to be the limit for boosting a Hellcat without taking too many risks on spending a fortune on the job.

As for the widebody part, the demonic kitten gets add-on fenders, following a trend that, by the way, started out in Japan with companies such as Rauh-Welt Begriff and Liberty Walk.

While custom wheels are almost mandatory for such a project, we're not big fans of the front splitter and for good reason - sure, the aero bits adorning the front fascia might look all-custom, but, since they affect the ground clearance, they inevitably put a dent in the practicality aura of the Hellcat. And we can probably say the same thing about the rear add-on aero elements.

You can check out Prior Design's 900 hp Hellcat, along with its vicious soundtrack, in the piece of footage below.
