Prince William Arrives at Polo Match Riding a Ducati Superbike

Hiding his royal face behind the blacked-out visor, Prince William was recently spotted arriving at Coworth Park club in Ascot, Berkshire, on a black Ducati 1198s. The Prince was there to attend the Westbury Shield charity polo match, the Daily Mail reported.

The second in line to the throne competed alongside his younger brother, Prince Harry, to raise funds for The Tusk Trust, an elephant conservation charity, and Sentebale, Harry's charity for African Aids orphans.

If the full-face Arai helmet the Prince was wearing to protect his royal head in case of a crash didn’t arouse any suspicions, the knee sliders painted like the Cross of St George did provide a clue to the public.

Wearing a red and black leather BKS motorcycle suit with Alpinestars gloves, the Prince changed into something much more comfortable to mount a one horsepower ride: a horse.

Compared to the 170 horsepower outputted by the Ducati 1198s, riding a horse during a polo match is much less dangerous.

However, the 27-year-old British Royal is known for his passion for motorcycling, as he is riding off-road since the age of eight. Last year, the future king took part in a motorcycle rally across South Africa. He then said that it is the anonymity a bikes offers a rider that he found most appealing.

His £15,000 Ducati 1198s reaches a top speed of 180 mph, and according to some police sources, Prince William is quite enjoying using the Italian superbike's throttle, as they have received some privately made calls from riders that accompany him, trying to somehow convince the Prince to slow down.
