I am not going to get cheesy just because V-day is drawing near. In fact, if I was to be blunt I’d even say that I couldn’t care less about Valentine’s Day. However, there are certain things which can make even a rough guy be a little more easy-going, with or without anything to do with a certain special day. One of the things which caught my attention was this photo I stumbled upon by mistake on Facebook.
Honestly, there is more “bike” and more “lady” in this photo than in all the rest of the pics where fancy-dressed ladies take around all sorts of motorcycles. One could argue that much and high heels are an atrocious combination. Maybe they are right… in their perfect, glossy fashion magazine world.
The real world is different, and the motorcycle world is even more different, simply because real bikers, not the posers who ride their machines one a month if it doesn’t rain, know that nothing stays clean and perfect once you’re in the saddle. To some, a speck of dust on the bike’s chrome or fancy paint is an abomination; to some, it’s just the way things are meant to be. ER-clean bikes belong to the showroom, and once you left the dealership, you’re out in the wild, a place where the rules are different.
This photo is obviously a set-up, because the bike is rather clean, but the symbolism behind the pixels is undented. Style and bikes go well together in more ways than we’d first be ready to admit. It doesn’t necessarily take a 30k machine to show your style, as it doesn’t mean you have to do something extraordinary. From time to time, all it takes is a lady who is not afraid to get dirty and do this the right way.
Frankly, it’s hard to imagine a rider who doesn’t appreciate this photo. Well played, madam! Shower time!
