Prank My Ride App Lets You Virtually Destroy a Car... Sort Of

We know the 1st of April is not near enough to start pranking, but this doesn’t mean you can’t practice your jokes until then. For that, a quick and easy way to prank your car enthusiast friends could be this free app.

Prank My Ride can be found for free on iTunes and lets you snap a photo of a car and then add in some whacky things to make it look like it has been damaged.

You can choose from multiple forms of car damage, including dents, fire, police tire lock, key scratches and window cracks. Then it all depends on your skill to make them look as realistic as possible.

And that’s because they’re just some background-less .png objects you can layer over the original photo and alter their shape a bit. Which is kinda sad, because the number of possibilities to make the whole picture look real drops dramatically due to lightning setup and the quality of some of the cut out props.

You can of course practice a bit and find the right angles to snap the photo in the first place to make it more suitable for the “post processing”. We doubt your pranked friend will run over to his car right quick after seeing the photo, but it might create a mini heart attack when he/she’ll see the thumbnail pic received via another messenger app.

Of course, for best results you could start learning some Photoshop. You still have four months to learn how to photo-manipulate, especially because Prank My Ride is not available on Android devices.
