There are a couple of tuners out there that really like to enhance BMW products but some are more worthy than others. PP-Performance, for example, has quickly risen to the highest highs of the tuning industry, showing us just how much you can do with a simple engine tune.
Looking at the M6 Gran Coupe, you could very well say that there isn’t much you can do to it, right? The car is already a luxurious monster with so much torque on the rear wheels that it will be activating the DSC in the 3rd or 4th gear if you’re all out on the acceleration pedal.

Furthermore, it will do mind-boggling things with four people inside. What more could you want? How about even more power? Does that sound good to you?

Well, to us it’s actually madness. Even Jeremy Clarkson said at one time that there is such a thing as too much power and we tend to agree. After a point, rear-wheel drive cars with too much on the rear axle tend to be too much to handle.

Therefore, we’re rather interested to see how the RS800 Gran Coupe will drive with PP-Performance’s added power. They basically took the Bimmer up to 800 HP and 950 Nm (700 lb-ft) of torque and all of it was done in the hope of creating the world’s fastest 6 Series.

Of course, it was mainly due to the ECU tune but other things were changed too, to make sure nothing imploded when accelerating. Things like the exhaust, for example, and the air filters had to be replaced to make sure the engine gets enough air in and out. Akrapovic and BMC were glad to step in.

Overall, the package costs €14,999 and it might be worth the money. However, you should wait a little longer, until the tuner finishes testing it, to make sure it’s up to par with the highest demands.
