Power Boost for Jags & Rovers from Arden

It’s not every day that we get something like this on our hands, so we decided it was worthy of reporting to the motoring public. Those of you who mistakenly think that German tuners are the only ones working this time of the year might be pardoned. It does indeed seem that the last couple of tuning news we had came from Germany.

Now, German tuners Arden have something special cooked up for those Jaguar and Range Rover owners. The prerequisite is for your car to be equipped with a V8 engine, because the boys have just come up with a new supercharger kit that uses the “Twin Screw Compressor” technology, which has a 98% efficiency (if only other things worked with a 98% efficiency).

This kit will give your dwindling V8 an extra 80 hp, upping the torque to 140 Nm. The whole thing comes in the shape of a ready-to-install kit, that the company says can be fitted on your car by almost any specialist shop, so you shouldn’t get any problems in that department.

While it does involve major engine surgery, it does not require the engine to be taken off the car. So it’s a rolling chassis operation that can be performed by the blokes with the right amount of know-how.

And because not all car owners are mechanically-inclined and most of the stuff written above sounds like a bunch of gibberish to them, Arden figured they’d release the full list of vehicles compliant with the new kit. And here it is, if you hear your name, please raise your hand and get in line: Range rover Sport, Range Rover LM (that includes the 4.2 Supercharger engine version), the Jaguar XJR, XKR, S-Type R and the XF SV8.
