Possible Mercedes-Benz F1 Withdrawal Further Explained

The Italian publication states that the people behind the Mercedes’ F1 effort are very displeased that three seasons after the rebranding of the Brawn GP team and the inclusion of Michael Schumacher into the scheme, a move which was expected to be highly successful, the team’s only notable glimmer of success is Nico Rosberg’s sole win.

Also, the man backing the F1 effort full-heartedly, Daimler chairman Dieter Zetsche, will be stepping down in a few months, and Mercedes GP will have lost its most prominent backer. Once Zetche steps down, the push will be made for a complete F1 withdrawal, as the ‘AMG F1’ solution has been deemed as too much of a compromise. A final decision on the matter will be taken at the next big 'board meeting'.
