Possible Aston Martin - Lotus Tie-Up in the Works?

An article from Automobile Magazine suggests that Aston Martin and Lotus are pondering the details of a possible collaboration, in order to reduce research and production costs, as well as improve the quality of their products. It may be simply a rumor, but it does make a lot of sense, and the two famed British brands would be a very good match for one-another, in today’s automotive industry.

The future of Lotus has been uncertain ever since now-ex CEO Dany Bahar was fired, and his extensive and very ambitious plans for a very wide range of new cars were scrapped, as well as recent rumors that the Malaysian company which currently owns Lotus, DRB-Hicom, may have been looking to possibly even sell the company altogether - these rumors were dismissed by the company CEO, Aslam Farikullah, who stated that selling is not an option, and that the Esprit which had been rumored to be cancelled, was still on track for production.

We say that such a tie-up between the two brands would benefit them both, in quite a few areas, including image, technology and most importantly for the companies the costs of production.
