Let’s take a minute to drool over some majestic German glory (again)!
The auto gurus over at Posaidon appear to be just as obsessed with Daimler’s machines as ABT Sportsline is with Audi’s entities. They pride themselves with a colossal range that covers countless Mercs of all shapes and sizes. As such, it’s quite safe to say these folks aren’t exactly rookies when it comes to developing remarkable performance enhancement kits for Stuttgart’s beloved pieces of four-wheeled machinery.

In the past, we’ve featured a few of Posaidon’s most notable ventures on AutoEvolution, including a menacing AMG G 63 and an A 45 with no less than 550 ponies nested under its hood. To be quite frank, these sexy beasts make for a spectacular display of German aftermarket goodness!

Now, let’s proceed with a thorough examination of yet another breathtaking exploit born under this tuner’s roof, shall we? The venture in question revolves around the Three-Pointed Star’s revered hatchback, namely the A 45 S. For comparison’s sake, we’ll kick things off by taking a second to analyze a few of the stock vehicle’s main characteristics.

This bad boy is powered by a malicious 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four leviathan that’ll deliver up to 415 hp at around 6,750 rpm. On the other hand, the engine will produce a crushing torque output of 369 pound-feet (500 Nm) at 5,000 revs. This sheer force travels to a 4Matic all-wheel-drive system via an AMG SpeedShift DCT 8G transmission.

As a result, the A 45 S will accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in just 3.9 seconds, while its top speed is generously rated at 170 mph (273 kph). Additionally, the hatch is perfectly capable of running the quarter mile in 12.1 seconds without breaking a sweat. Oh, and a 7:48.8 second lap time at the almighty Nurburgring Nordschleife racetrack is a rather drool-worthy feat, if you ask me. Needless to say, this Merc means business!

However, Posaidon’s pros managed to find some considerable room for improvement. The auto surgeons fiddled with the inline-four powerplant to extract a healthy dose of extra oomph that’ll have you think Daimler’s hatch has been taking steroids. At optimal revs, the 2.0-liter monstrosity will generate as much as 518 hp and 443 pound-feet (600 Nm) of ruthless twisting force., which is simply staggering.

The power output boost is accomplished by means of a fresh turbocharger module, as well as a comprehensive ECU remap and a selection of refinements applied to the eight-speed transmission’s software.

All things considered, the performance package (dubbed RS 525) will have Stuttgart’s hatchback accelerate 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in no more than 3.4 seconds. Meanwhile, top speed jumps all the way up to a whopping 201 mph (324 kph).

Should you be looking for something a little softer, you may leave the aftermarket turbo out of the equation and opt for the software modifications alone. This will have the Merc’s output figures jump to 459 ponies and 413 pound-feet (560 Nm) of twist. The whole shebang leads to a top speed of 198 mph (318 kph) and a 0-62 mph (0-10 kph) acceleration time of just 3.6 seconds.

Lastly, pricing for Posaidon’s performance kit remains a mystery, but I’m prepared to bet all that extra muscle doesn’t come cheap. I mean, this is German craftmanship at its finest, after all.

Come on, I know you’d love to hit the Autobahn in this ferocious A 45 S!
