If you're familiar with the Greek Mythology, then Posaidon might sound a bit funny. That's because Poseidon, the god of the sea and earthquakes has nothing to do with the German tuning firm, although their logo might suggest otherwise.
We could argue, however, that the tuning gods have been favourable to Mercedes-AMG's hottest cars at the moment: the AMG GT and the performance sedan known as the Mercedes-AMG C63.
Both cars share the same 4.0-liter V8, but sport different performance figures. However, Posaidon had no problem in coming up with a tuning package for both models since the under-the-hood tech is the same.
For the AMG GT, the power increase leads to a new overall output of 630 HP and 725 Nm (535 lb-ft). Top speed is also affected by this upgrade which means Porsche 911's competitor will be able to hit 209 mph (337 km/h). Hopefully, they'll stick with the Autobahn when putting that to the test.
The Mercedes-AMG C63 gets less horsepower than the GT, but compensates that with a higher maximum torque value, because Posaidon's tuning kit rewards BMW M3's rival with 610 HP and 800 Nm (591 lb-ft).
And because they're such cool dudes, Posaidon will even remove the speed limiter that kept top speed on a leash at 155 mph (250 km/h). As a result, the feisty sedan can now bullet its way up to 204 mph (328 km/h).
I'm sure the price tag on these upgrades would have been useful to say at least, but there's no word on that yet. The truth is, we were expecting a bit more grandeur from Posaidon since they're known for extreme tuning works. Like this 850 HP Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG right here.
