Porsche Unleashes New Macan GTS with More Power and Exclusive Seats for $71,300

One of the newest nameplates of the Porsche lineup is the Macan. Launched in 2014, the car quickly rose to the same level of success as other Porsches, even beating them thanks to the fact that it keeps true to the pedigree of the German company.

As of 2016, the Macan range also includes a Gran Turismo Sport model. Shortened to GTS, the nameplate stands for the most performance-oriented Macan thanks to special modifications made to the engine, chassis, and design.

As 2019 draws to a close, the GTS got refreshed just in time for Christmas. The new one is advertised as being more powerful, more exclusive and easier to drive than ever before.

Under the hood of the car sits a 2.9-liter V6 biturbo engine that cranks out a total of 380 ps and 520 Nm of torque, 20 ps and 20 Nm more than in the outgoing generation.

The engine is controlled by a tweaked PDK dual-clutch transmission. When dressed in the optional Sport Chrono package, this GTS is capable of reaching 62 mph in 4.7 seconds (that’s three tenths faster than before) and a top speed of 261 kph (162 mph).

But the most important changes made to the Macan are not necessarily those detailed above, but the ones meant to improve the car’s handling.

Porsche tweaked the Active Suspension Management (PASM) damping control system, lowered the chassis by 15 mm, and fitted the car with 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels, all in the name of improving handling, especially at high speed.

Just as the GTS before it, this one too sports visual and comfort changes. They include unique exterior design elements, high-quality materials, and seats exclusive to this model.

The 2020 Porsche Macan GTS is already available for order on markets across the world, including in the U.S. where it is priced from $71,300. The number does include the $1,350 delivery charge.
