Porsche Unleashes Cayman S Black Edition Promo

German automaker Porsche seems to be black-obsessed when it comes to its limited edition models, and so is the case with the Cayman S Black Edition released in early May. Now the Stuttgart manufacturer decided to raise consumer interest on the model by releasing a promo video that is centered around the “Some things just need to be black” motto. Take for example the ice hockey puck, coffee, or even the vinyl record.

Limited to just 500 units worldwide, the Porsche Cayman S Black Edition comes with 19-inch black alloys, Bi-Xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights and exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensors.

The interior gets partial leather seats, a Sport Design steering wheel, black trim across the dashboard, gear level and instrument dials, and the Black Edition logo stamped on the entry guards.

In terms of performance, this special edition is powered by a 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection, mounted in front of the rear axle, producing 330 horsepower – 10 more than in the Cayman S – that can be coupled with the optional PDK transmission.

With PDK, the Cayman S Black Edition will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 4.6 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package and reaches a top track speed of 172 mph while achieving EPA estimated fuel economy of 20 city and 29 highway (19/26 when equipped with six-speed manual and top track speed of 173 mph), the same as the Cayman S.
