Porsche Tops 2011 Sales Record

German luxury automaker Porsche has surpassed last year’s sales record with time to spare. So far this year, they’ve delivered 128,978 new cars to customers around the world in just 11 months. For the entire duration of 2011, Porsche only managed to shift 118,868 cars in total, so they’ve actually managed to set a new sales record with time to spare.

For the month of November alone, the Germans managed an impressive result of 12,928 cars, which is a massive 38.7 improvement over last year. Demand in the US and China was particularly strong. The States were the biggest market, having demanded 3,865 cars, 71% more than in the same month last year. The Chinese bought 63.4% more cars in November for a total of 2,919 units.

“Our current product initiative has continuously improved the attractiveness of the Porsche brand in 2012,” says Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG.

“The fact that we have already surpassed the previous year's result in November is no reason for us to rest on our laurels. On the contrary, it is an incentive to deliver maximum performance in the next year – in spite of continued uncertainty in the marketplace.”
