In another example of badly held secrets that weren't supposed to be secrets at all, we've learned that the new Porsche 911 Targa will make its official world debut this month at the Detroit Auto Show way ahead of the actual venue. And because the car's design has already leaked online via patent images, Porsche doesn't even have to show anything for the teaser.
The tagline is "If you're going to have a roof over your head, make it an amazing one" and by showing us only a bunch of buildings with moving rooves, Porsche has somehow managed to get us excited.

We, together with thousands of Porsche die-hard fans, have been waiting for the true successor to the original 911 Targa. While the 997 generation did put on the Targa badge, it didn't have the true open-air feel and especially not the amazing roof technology that this one does.

The official debut of the 2015 Targa has a time and a place: Detroit, January 13, 11.45 CET. We're there!

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
