If you think about what is going on in the world now, there are definitely worst things that can happen than crashing a brand-new $160k car after clocking no more than 15 miles (24 km).
But bar anything involving someone's life or wellbeing, you'd have to go really out of your way to top that. Sure, there might be a case of a crane falling over somebody's newly-built house or something, but you have to agree that this person - who, for obvious reasons, is probably happy to remain anonymous - has had a very bad week or month.

Unfortunately, there is no info on how or where the accident took place. It's fair to assume it happened somewhere near Somerville, New Jersey since that's where the vehicle is at the moment, but it's just an assumption. Another way to narrow down the location would be to look for a US Porsche dealership that has a dangerous turn no further than five, ten miles or so.

All 761 PS (750 horsepower) that this vehicle produces has been lost forever after having used only a small part of them to cover just 15 miles. We all know most new cars don't come with zero miles on board, so the owner couldn't have enjoyed their fresh acquisition for more than a few minutes.

Most of the vehicle appears to be intact, but there are a few tell-tales that indicate why this Turbo S is beyond repair. At first glance, all damage seems to be concentrated around the wheels and the front bumper, but even without reading the description, which says there's also damage to the undercarriage, you can tell the impact 1). was very violent, and 2). caught the EV sideways.

Three of the four tires are completely shredded, while the front left wheel itself is smashed and appears to be kept in place by the mangled wheel arch. And if that doesn't make it as clear as day the Taycan wasn't doing 30 mph (50kph) at the time of the crash, there's also the left-side airbags have been called into action. Somebody was probably way too excited about their new car and forgot all about physics.

Somebody's bad luck is somebody else's fortune because the car is now on sale on Copart. The auction is open, but there's also the possibility of a direct buy. The price isn't public, but you can be sure it's a far cry from the $160k plus the Taycan went for when new. If somebody's looking for an electric powertrain to go into their project car, this is probably a godsend.
