While we still haven’t receive all the versions of the 991-generation Porsche 911, the German engineers are already out there testing what seems to be the facelift for their core model.
The adjacent images are the first to reveal the refreshed incarnation of the 911, the 991.2. Since the new generation of the model showed up at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 and Porsche’s typical life cycle includes a revamp once every 4 years or so, we can expect the 991.2 to debut in 2015.
It’s time to talk Porsche 911 editions now and it seems that the car shown here is the GTS model. To put it shortly, this will be the hottest naturally-aspirated version that doesn’t slip into the track-inspired area, such as the GT3, for example.
The test vehicle is wearing camo on its front and rear aprons. Up front, we can see reshaped air intakes and LED daytime running lights. However, it’s the rear end that holds the bigger changes, sporting larger taillights. Again, this is a strong indication that we’re dealing with a facelift here.
As a reminder, we’ll tell you that while the “regular” 911s, the Turbo (S) and the GT3 are already out, 2014 will bring us the Targa, GT2 GT3 RS.
