Porsche Speedster Rendered with No Windscreen, Looks Like a Ferrari Monza Rival

As those of you familiar with the upper layers of the go-fast market are well aware, there's a new niche that seems to draw in more carmakers, with this involving no roof and either a small windscreen or no screen at all. It's not like Ferrari invented this with the Monza SP1/SP2 (just think of the SLR Stirling Moss), but Maranello certainly helped the concept gain popularity.

McLaren has already announced its intentions to come up with a Speedster that seems to rival the said Prancing Horses, with the Brits letting us now the newcomer will be their lightest road car to date.

Even Porsche has joined the game, albeit not on the commercial level. Yes, I'm referring to the Bergspyder, the concept based on the pre-718 Boxster, which we met back in June, despite the idea having shown up in 2015.

A nod to the 1968 909 Bergspider, which tipped the scales at well below 400 kg (880 lbs), being aimed at hillclimb adventures, the new-age machine remains confined to our screens, with Porsche citing registration difficulties on certain markets as the reason for not offering this to the public - you can check out boths Porschas in the gallery above.

But what if things went one step higher and Zuffenhausen came up with an actual rival for the Ferrari Monza SP1/SP2 and the McLaren Speedster?

Well, the rendering sitting before us gives us an idea of how such a German toy look like.

This piece of eye candy started out in life as a sketch done by designer Gilnei Hoffmann Borges, while the Spdesignest label brought along the color play that brought everything closer to real life.

And while Porsche hasn't announced any intentions to come up with such a contraption, it wouldn't surprise me to see an eccentric aficioando out there comissioning such a build, albeit with the Taycan portrayed here not being the most likely starting point.
