Porsche Salutes Time Travelers with a Dedicated Video. No Kidding

Shhh... please be quiet for a moment. That way we’ll be able to listen to that odd sound coming from Zuffenhausen. In fact, it’s not a strange soundtrack, but the sound of Porsche employees giggling. That’s probably happening thanks to the German automaker having just released a video aimed at... saluting time travellers.

No, we haven’t left the nitrous oxide bottle open inside the room. Porsche has actually come up with a clip that has the declared purpose of saying hi to all those who are engaged in time travelling.

As you can imagine, the entire thing is centered around Porsche’s plug-in hybrid range, which technically only includes the Panamera S E-Hybrid and the Cayenne S E-Hybrid these days, since the 918 Spyder is out of production.

Despite Porsche’s recent statement on giving the green light to the Mission E electric vehicle, the electron juice-powered machine doesn’t seem to make an appearance here.

Then again, Porsche employees have more than one reason to celebrate. For one thing, the November sales figures, which Porsche released earlier this week, show the company has traveled north of the 200,000 units sold from January through November.

This means that, even without taking into account the cars that are being delivered to their owners as you are reading this, Porsche is having its most successful year ever.

Don’t expect its staff to spend too much time partying, though. While the revamped 911 Turbo’s development has been completed, German engineers are still out there testing the Boxster and Cayman 718 Boxster and Cayman, with the reinvented mid-engined sportscar set to land over the course of the following year.

The rumor mill talks about this video being a secret move on Porsche’s side. The video is believed to be a message aimed at convincing extraterrestrials to lend Porsche their advanced propulsion technologies, thus guaranteeing the carmaker’s dominance.
