Porsche is pushing its 911 variation further than ever today with yet another limited-edition model, this time aimed at the American market. Say hello to the GTS Club Coupe, which celebrates the 60th anniversary of the largest Porsche club in the world.
Only 60 sexy coupes will be made, all painted in his classical but distinctive "Club Blau" color and based on the Carrera GTS body.

“The Porsche Club of America is home to passionate ambassadors who have been fostering the appreciation and recognition of Porsche for 60 years,” said Andre Oosthuizen, Vice President of Marketing for Porsche Cars North America, as the car was unveiled today at Porsche’s new headquarters at One Porsche Drive in Atlanta. “We are proud and honored to celebrate this anniversary with a very special edition of Porsche's most storied sports car - the 911.”

The GTS combines the 430 hp version of the 3.8-liter flat-six, the 44 mm wider body of the 911 Carrera 4 models and a rear wheel drive platform. How nifty is that?

Our favorite part is the wheel set, which Porsche says are 20-inch Sport Classics painted in semi-gloss black with polished wheel centers and rim flanges. However, we know them as the 50th Anniversary Edition’s Fuchs Wheels from last year. We also love the ducktail spoiler from the aero package, a feature every 911 owner needs to consider.

As we've said before, power comes from a 430 hp boxer unit shared with the GTS. When equipped with the optional PDK, the Club Coupe will get you from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and on to a very impressive top speed of 190 mph (189 mph on PDK-equipped models). It should also handle brilliantly, thanks to the standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), incorporating adaptive dampers and a 10 mm lower ride, and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), as well as the Sport Chrono Package with dynamic engine mounts.

The first unit will be a prize which any Porsche Club of America stands a chance of winning. As for the other 59, they will be sold for $136,060, not including a destination charge of $995. I don't need to tell you a 911 GT3 is cheaper, do I?

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
