Porsche Releases New Teaser for Panamera

Porsche was never synonymous with the “four-door” concept, so you know the auto industry is going to the dogs when one of the world's leading sports car manufacturers gets in the sedan market. But let's not be too harsh, if people change everyday, why can't a company change too?

Regardless of the reasons for which they chose to build sedans, the Panamera is coming to a showroom near you. Porsche are done with the whole thing after investing a lot of time in this project, and they are not too shy to brag about it. In fact, that's the idea behind the latest teaser, which seems to underline all the work they've put behind the latest project.

The main idea here is comfort and style for all 4 passengers, just like you'd expect from a Porsche. The only thing bothering us at the moment is the freaky voice that's doing the talking in the background. The guy sounds a like stalker for sure which makes the whole a little bit freaky.

Nonetheless we tried to focus on the automotive aspect and less on the way in which the information was presented. The idea that transpires from the film is that the Panamera was thoroughly tested in various parts of the world and under various road conditions before the concept reached the mass production stage.

For one-and-a-half minutes you are almost breathless as you watch the half covered Panamera shred icy roads and hot burning pieces of tarmac. Porsche emphasizes the fact that even if this is a sedan, it retains the sportiness quality of a Porsche, the very essence of the company.

The car was already made public via a series of teasers (damn you Toyota Prius for setting this trend!) but isn't supposed to go on sale until next year, which means you'll have to wait some more before ordering yours. The engines available on the Panamera are a turbocharged V8 and a V6 petrol unit. Later, in 2010, there will be a hybrid version completing Porsche's transition towards the commercial.

A diesel or a hybrid Porsche would have been considered a sacrilege until not long ago, let alone a four door car, but it seems that not even the mighty Porsche can escape the harsh realities of today's economics. Watch the video below and then shed a tear for exclusivity and tradition.
