Porsche Panamera Shooting Brake To Debut in Geneva, Coming to US as 2018 Model

Based on the unofficial information we had so far, we were all expecting Porsche to keep us on our toes, awaiting the introduction of the Panamera Sport Turismo's production vehicle. However, it seems we're about to enter family comfort zone soon, with the Panamera shooting brake set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2017.

The Swiss venue, which takes place in March, will host the introduction of the overly practical Zuffenhausen machine - at least that's what the most recent Bloomberg report tells us, citing (unnamed) people who are "familiar with the [Porsche] strategy,"

This is an excellent occasion for us to drop a reminder, namely that Porsche has already confirmed the model will make it into US showrooms. Then again, with the brand's ever-growing luxury image, don't expect the Sport Turismo (remember, this is the name of the concept you can find in the clip below) to meet the usual resistance wagons are treated with on American soil.

Then there are the tech assets of the thing. The shooting brake, which we've spied on multiple occasions, will mirror most of the standard Panamera's engine options, if we may call the four-door Neunelfer that.

At the frugal end of the line-up, this means the 4 E-Hybrid version, which is scheduled to make its debut at the Paris Motor Show (press days kick off on September 29), will deliver 30 miles (50 km) of electric range, while covering the 0 to 62 mph sprint in 4.6 seconds.

Checking out the other end of the line-up means talking about the Turbo S. But since that hasn't been launched yet, we'll have to settle for the 550 hp Turbo, which can go round the Nurburgring in 7:38, or about as fast as the previous generation 911 Turbo supercar.

And once the clientele starts turning to Porsche Exclusive, the carmaker's personalization arm, these "wagons" will look like four-wheeled jewelry rolling on the street. After all, German designers and engineers have been working on this since 2012, when the concept was introduced.
