Last week, our spy shooters got their lens on the Porsche Mission E, with Zuffenhausen's electric sedan making its spyshot debut. Now that the electron juice sipper is among us in prototype form, a four-car convoy has been spotted in German traffic.
We're thrilled to notice that most of the bewildering styling cues of the Mission E Concept, which bowed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, are still here.

The Mission E prototypes were testing alongside a Tesla Model X - despite all the differences between the two brands, Zuffenhausen can't ignore the reputation Palo Alto has built, so such a move is only normal.

As you can imagine, Porsche isn't exactly talkative when it comes to specs of the Mission E. Nevertheless, the automaker has let it slip that the electric sedan will offer a driving range of at least 310 miles (500 km). And it's just as important that you'll be able to reach an 80 percent charge in a whopping 15 minutes. The while-you-have-coffee charge will be possible thanks to the 800V system of the car. Keep in mind that the current EVs pack 400V hardware.

The carmaker has also mentioned that the starting price of the Mission E should match that of the Panamera, which means you can expect the newcomer to kick off at around $85,000.

However, given the always-rich Porsche range, we're expecting the Mission E to pack multiple versions, with the most likely path being that Porsche will introduce spiced-up incarnations of the car that will battle the range-topping Tesla models on the straight-line performance front.

The German carmaker's electric sedan should hit the market by the end of 2019. Forum chat sees owners talking about Porsche dealers building lists of interested customers, with those who put their name there set to be contacted as soon as more details are available.
