Porsche has dumped a huge quantity of development money into the Macan SUV and we think they're got a winner on their hands. Initial sales reports suggest this could be their best seller when 2015 comes to an end, despite offering only four versions compared to over 20 in the case of the 911.
And despite being based on an Audi platform, the Macan not only feels dynamic, but is also available with all those unique personalization features that all the Porsche customers seem to love, including leather-covered everything and unique colors available through the Exclusive catalog.
This Macan Turbo, fresh off the assembly line, has been gifted with a paintjob in Impulse Red Metallic. Despite its unique look, it's not actually that rare, having been seen on the Panamera and the Cayenne for a while now. Mercedes also has a similar tone of metallic red available for this CLS-Class four-door coupe after the mid-life facelift. As for the interior, this appears to have been done in Saddle Brown, a €1,500 option that has been combined with carbon fiber inserts for the dash, console and doors. Red seatbelts and matching red complete a package that's so unique, we're afraid not many people will like it.
Even though only the flagship model gets to wear the "Macan Turbo" badge, all models in the range are actually turbocharged, starting from the base 2-liter unit that's available only in emerging markets and continuing with the 258 hp turbodiesel. Of course Turbo model tops them all, with a nice, round 400 hp total output. When the Sport Chrono Package has been specced, 0 to 100 km/h in this €80,000 sports SUV takes only 4.6 seconds, the same as an A45 AMG.
