Porsche has decided to gift its upcoming Macan SUV with more visual personality, with the carmaker reevaluating the design of the car after analyzing the success of the Range Rover Evoque.
Michael Mauer, who leads Porsche’s design offensive said that the Macan will come with more striking details that it was initially planned, but he didn’t reveal what changes are being made to the SUV, as Autonews Europe writes.
Mauer explained that automakers constantly update the look of a model that’s being developed after being impressed by other new vehicles. He pointed out that the Macan will have nothing to do with the Estoque, saying that "it will be a real Porsche – the sports car in its segment".
The baby Cayenne, as it was called when it was just a rumor, will be produced at the company’s plant in Leipzig, Germany, where Porsche is investing €500 million ($) in development. As we previously reported, Porsche aims to produce 75,000 units of the Macan per year, with the car set to hit the marker by the end of 2014. This is part of a bigger Porsche sales plan, as the carmaker wants to sell 200,000 vehicles per year by 2018.
