Porsche Macan, the company’s first compact crossover SUV, will be unveiled at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show which is scheduled to take place in November.
According to Auto Express, the Audi Q5-based Porsche will be set to be released in spring 2014 with prices starting from £36,000. Built on the same MLB platform, the Porsche Macan is said to be 130 kg (286 lbs) lighter that the current Audi Q5 and it’s expected to become available with four-wheel drive only.
In addition, our source claims that Porsche will fit a range of six-cylinder engine in the Macan, both petrol and diesel, with a four-potter to be added later in the vehicle’s life. Also, the compact SUV should arrive with a sportier S version, as well as a Hybrid variant.
Set to be built in Leipzig, Germany, the Porsche Macan will rival with vehicles such as the Range Rover Evoque and the BMW X4.
