Porsche Macan HD Wallpapers

As if nature knew Porsche cared more about the sportscar side of its Macan than about its crossover labelling, the skies above exploded as we were heading into our drive. A heavy storm marked the start of our Macan review and what you see above was only the preview for the weather that awaited ahead.

Nonetheless, the Macan couldn’t be bothered about what was going on outside. All the car was preocupied with was to offer us a peaceful time. Not too peaceful though, this is a Porsche - you can’t expect all that much peace and quiet when the steering wheel draws inspiration from the insane 918 Spyder hybrid hypercar.

Aiming to pass as one of the “small” Porsches, the Macan skips the usual five-dial dashboard instrument arrangement. We only receive three dials, like in the Boxster and Cayman.

The warm atmoshpere above is what the Macan sends out to its passengers. This is the only area where the Porsche model feels like the Audi Q5 it is related with. We really can’t complain about the Macan turning out to be such a good long-trip partner. The only limitations here are brought by the rear-seat space, which is only decent.

As with every new model Porsche releases, the styling process includes a phase dedicated to the part where the designers are stuck on the 911 and do everything they can for the new vehicle to resemble their favorite child. For the Macan, this meant the shapes of the rear end place a focus on this area, even though there's no engine at the back. The clues are subtle, such as the gently arched roofline and the profile of the rear wings, but the overall effect is definitely here.

The aforementioned steering wheel isn’t the only bit of the Macan that’s inspired from the 918 Spyder. The same appears to be true about the headlights. Even without making this connection, we could sit and stare into a Macan’s headlights for quite a while. We actually did this during our review, but, since we were on a field, there was nobody there to wonder at our behaviour.

As Captain Obvious would tell you, these are drops of rain, not sweat - the Macan didn’t have to struggle too much in order to demonstrate it is in a class of its own. Not quite a sportscar, but rather a reinvention of the “crossover” term. While the details of this are found in our review, you can also check out the visual details of the Macan in our Full HD photo gallery.
