However, a cheaper Porsche Macan doesn’t mean it will be a slouch, as the 2.0-liter engine of the new flavor of the brand’s smallest SUV will develop 252 HP between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm.

The torque value is more than reasonable, as the turbocharged and direct-injected gasoline unit provides 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque between 1,600 rpm and 4,500 rpm.

The entry-level Macan can go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 MPH) in just 6.7 seconds in standard trim. The addition of the Sport Chrono package drops the acceleration time by 0.2 seconds to 6.5 seconds flat. Top speed is of 229 km/h (142 MPH), enough for an entry level SUV, even one made by Porsche.

Average fuel economy is estimated at 7.2-7.4 liters/100 kilometers (32-31 MPG), depending on wheel/tire options and other features. In standard trim, the Porsche Macan has all-wheel-drive and a PDK twin-clutch gearbox. There’s no manual or rear-wheel drive option for the entry-level SUV of the Porsche range.

You will be able to spot an entry-level Macan on the street thanks to the black 18-inch alloy rims, black brake calipers, and the dual trapezoidal exhausts finished in black. Do not be quick to judge the driver of the cheapest Porsche SUV, as the 2.0 Turbo Macan will not be given away for free. We expect the model to be slightly cheaper than the current versions, but not by a long shot.

The new Macan 2.0 Turbo is also the lightest SUV ever made by Porsche, so it should provide a new level of handling and agility. It has an unladen weight of 1,770 kilograms. In Germany, Porsche has already opened the order books for the new Macan 2.0 Turbo, and it starts at 55,669 euros, VAT included. However, the market launch will take place in June 2016, so it will be a while until these come to market.

Along with the new version of the Macan, Porsche has introduced a new infotainment system on the Cayenne. It is the Porsche Communication Management System, which has become a standard for the Cayenne. It features a seven-inch touchscreen and supports Apple CarPlay. It also has a 3D representation of some areas, navigation module as standard, and voice control, among other new and enhanced features.
