Porsche Macan Design Explained

The Porsche Macan. We'll be talking about this one for months, and next-to-nobody has actually driven the car. Technically a more compact SUV than the Cayenne, the Macan is about 15 centimeters shorter, is a few hundred kilograms lighter and 160 liters less boot space.

But even so, unique styling was needed to ensure people would be able to tell the two apart. The Macan's design has at least two features that we've never seen before. From the back, you need only look at the taillights. These have a 3D effect, where they sink into the body and have a line in the middle. At the front, the bonnet line is not visible because the whole top lifts, like on a Viper or a MINI Cooper Mk2.

Like any Porsche, both the front and rear have wheel arch humps that are slightly higher than the mid-section. This is to give you that "oh, this car is related to the 911" feeling.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
