The Porsche Macan has just been officially revealed by the German automaker, and we're still undecided if we love it or just like it. There's a hit of crossover to it, like it's undecided if it wants to be a car or an SUV, but there's no denying people will buy it.
While that thought process was going on, we discovered that a configurator for the 2014 Macan was already online for us to enjoy. Since the pricing hasn't been added, it's more of a visualizer than a configurator, but still, examining it tells us a lot of new things.

For instance, the Macan will come as standard with two colors, white and black. There will be six more optional metallic shades, our favorite being the "Dark Blue Metallic" they used for the press images. An extra special color called "Aurum Metallic" will also be available. Amusingly, Aurum Metallic is actually an Audi color for sportscars. There's also no standard leather, at least according to what the configurator says right now (it has lots of errors). The Macan Turbo has five wheel options, but the leser S and S Diesel model have a extra smaller ones. The maximum diameter is 21-inches for a set of "911 Turbo Design Wheels".

Options are as numerous as you'd expect from any Porsche and include carbon fiber trim, parking aids, roof rails in aluminum. You can have a Chrono watch on top of the dash and the seatbelts can be had in every color imaginable.

Macan Configurators: Macan S, Macan S Diesel, Macan Turbo

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
