We’ve talked about the Porsche Macan 2.0T on multiple occasions so far and now the crossover is back in the headlines, all thanks to the fact that it has received a rather aggressive aftermarket exhaust system.
For those unfamiliar with the topic, the main ingredient is the four-cylinder engine of this Macan. If you haven’t heard of yet, it’s probably because Porsche is only offering it on emerging markets, keeping the 2.0T outside the US and Europe.
Speaking of which, the company that builds this exhaust system comes from Taiwan. They’ve now made a video that showcases the aural effects of their development. To be more precise, this is a complete setup that includes ultra high flow catless pipes, a front pipe, a mid x-pipe, as well as a catback Valvetronic muffler with quad tips.
The last bit means the exhaust has valves that allow the driver to control the extent to which the Audi-lifted engine will express its feelings and emotions.
Speaking of which, this is the 2.0 TFSI unit used by the A4/A5 and the Q5, with the latter also sharing its platform with the Macan. In stock form, the engine delivers 237 PS from 5,000 rpm and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) from 1,500 lb-ft. In Macan fashion, the unit is matted to a PDK double-clutch gearbox. As a result, the crossover deals with the 0 to 100 KM/H (62 MPH) sprint in 6.9 seconds, while its top speed sits at 137 MPH (223 KM/H).
Sure, investing in the tech side of a Macan that was supposed to be an entry-level model doesn’t sound like the most logical decision.
