Back in the days when I was far too small to get behind the wheel of an actual car, I would get together with a few of my friends, grab as many car parts as we could, and pretend to put together a vehicle. If you check out the gallery below, you'll notice Porsche has recently done the same.
The company's tech accessories division took apart a pre-facelift 991 Porsche 911 Carrera S to play this game - this is a 2011 model, so we're talking about one of the early cars.

However, with Porsche being Porsche, they couldn't help themselves and added a bit of extra power, as they put the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six back together. Porsche Tequipment sees this as a 20th-anniversary gift for itself.

With the engine going from 400 to 430 horses thanks to a Carrera S Powerkit, the boxer unit has been brought to the output level of the Porsche 911 GTS engine. The same can be said about the torque level, which means we get an output of 430 hp at 7,500 rpm and 324.5 lb-ft (440 Nm) at 5,750 rpm.

The list of engine upgrades

The powerplant upgrades include a new intake cam profile that provides extra valve lift, cylinder head channels enlarged by milling and polishing, an intake manifold going from 1 to 6+1 individual flaps, as well as a dual-pipe sports exhaust.

Porsche has also added a third radiator just left of the front license plate, as well as a new engine cover.

The hardware changes are governed by new ECU mapping, which brings changes in the ignition and injection strategies.

And while the extra radiator adds a bit of weight, the Tequipment 911 isn't heavier than the standard model. This is owed to other accessories fitted to the sportscar, such as a pair of carbon racing seats.

The overall changes brought to the 911 also include a Sport Design Kit - you can see the car both with and without the kit in the images below.

Porsche fetishists who want to use the maximum zoom for this project can check out the press release below.
