Porsche has just announced, on the sidelines of the 2011 Qatar Motor Show, that 2010 was its best year ever in the Middle East, posting a 20 percent increase after calendar year that ended December 31. The company has delivered a total of 6,842 units in the Middle East in 2010, up from 5,694 units sold in the year before and more than in any other year since the company's debut in the local market.
Porsche Cayenne attracted the biggest number of buyers, more than 50 percent of the Porsche customers opting for the Germans' SUV. More than 3,600 Cayenne units have thus found a new buyer in 2010, more than it was the case of Panamera that recorded sales of "only" 1,900 units.
According to Porsche estimates, this means that around 30 percent of the buyers went for the Panamera, while 20 percent were much more attracted by 911, Boxster or Cayman.
"We are back on the fast track. Like no other car manufacturer Porsche is a symbol for faszinating sports cars and ‘Intelligent Performance’. Our importers' dedicated commitment contributed to further strengthen the customers' trust in the Porsche brand," said Bernhard Maier, board member for sales and marketing, at the Qatar Motor Show.
Separately, Porsche unveiled at the Qatar Motor Show the so-called Panamera 4S Exclusive Middle East Edition, a limited series of the Panamera that will be built in just 66 units. The car will be offered with several special features, such as black alloy wheels, the Carrera White exterior finish and the red leather interior.
