Porsche Facebook Community Tops One Million Fans

Today, Porsche is enjoying another delicious marketing fruit, as the company announced that its Facebook community has reached one million members. We have to mention that the one-millionth enthusiasts actually joined the club on Monday, November 15.

"Although we are witness to passionate customers and fans every day, it is neat to set another Porsche milestone by growing to over 1,000,000 strong on Facebook," said Josh Cherfoli, Online Relationship and Marketing Manager for Porsche Cars North America, "It's an excellent opportunity to help us connect with our fanbase, and we thank them all for sharing our passion."

The German automaker is planning to reward its followers. The company is inviting fans to sign-up via Facebook to have their name written on a special Porsche model. Yes, we are talking about a real-life vehicle that will be displayed at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany. Fans can enter the story until December 31, with the vehicle entering the public’s attention in February next year.

Globally recognized, the Porsche Facebook fan page holds many interactive features for its members.  Fans can view original images, stream video and read and discuss the latest news on Porsche products, motorsports victories, and events on the site's wall,” stated the press release.

Porsche’s Facebook tabs also point to other interactive social media projects. One of these is the Porsche Family Tree website, which allows users to post their personal Porsche experience. The site currently includes over 3,500 unique stories that show the connection between Porsche cars and owners, as well as fans’ devotion for the brand.
