Porsche Exclusive Color Battle: 911 GT3 RS vs. 911 GT3

Nowadays, the 911 GT3 can almost consider itself the Cinderella (should we use Cylinderella instead?) of Porsche's GT division. For instance, with all the attention being grabbed by the Rennsport incarnation of the GT3, many enthusiasts tend to forget how awesome the non-RS car is.

Well, the GT3 in the images below couldn't take it anymore, so it challenged the GT3 RS next to it to an attention-grabbing battle. Yes, the RS badge does bring a wider body, air intakes on the rear fenders, as well as a wing that makes the one on the GT3 look almost normal, but none of this is relevant here.

That's because we're dealing with a color battle. As for the hues present on these two rear-engined athletes, it's difficult to be 100 percent sure just by using this pair of pics. For one thing, the RS seems to use Miami Blue, while the GT3 appears to be dressed in Birch Green. However, both cars certainly required the attention of Porsche Exclusive, the automaker's personalization arm. Regardless, we must thank Facebook user Gumbal for the photos.

In fact, if we had a Nurburgring lap for every occasion on which we've shown you a crazy-colored 911 GT3 RS PDK, we'd probably be the best Green Hell drivers in the business (we heard Koenigsegg was hiring).

Returning to the GT3's status, the future looks brilliant. Porsche has learned its clutch pedal lessons with the 911 R and will bring back the stick shift, as an option, on the 991.2 GT3.

And while 911 R customers will start receiving their cars soon, a move that once again takes the attention away from the GT3, once the revamped model comes out, the availability of the beast, at least compared to the GT3 RS and the R, will make it shine. By the way, here are the most recent 991.2 GT3 spyshots for those of you who missed them.
