German manufacturer Porsche announced today two new appointments in its management structure, to come into effect since the beginning of the month.
Malte Radmann, who has served as a member of the executive board of the two Porsche subsidiaries, Porsche Engineering Group and Porsche Engineering Services, will become the chairman of the board for the two smaller Porsche entities. In addition, Dirk Lappe, former head of two of Porsche Engineering's departments, has been named technical director for the subsidiaries.
Porsche Engineering is a Porsche subsidiary in charge with the support of third party manufacturers and original equipment suppliers. The entity works at its own locations, and uses for its customers the structures of the Porsche Research and Development Centre in Weissach, where it is also based.
Porsche Engineering was established in 2001 and has handled various projects, starting from wind turbines for DeWind and ending with drive and control units for hospital beds.
Today, the company offers services ranging from complete vehicle development to industrial engineering. In terms of vehicles, Porsche Engineering covers all aspects of the car's development, starting with the creation of a concept and ending with either digital or physical mock-up.
"The company supports customers throughout the entire process of automotive product creation in the development of components, systems, modules and complete vehicles. The Weissacher engineers always have their eye on the complete vehicle thanks to the bundled expertise of Porsche as a series producer," the company said in the release announcing the new appointments.
