Fanboy opinions aside, the Porsche 911-vs-Cayman debate could probably go on forever and one strong argument in favor of the mid-engined coupe is that it makes up for the lost rear seats by offering both a frunk and a trunk.
Well, today we're here to talk about how a Cayman driver decided to put his trunk lid in the service of the community. As you can see in the image above, which comes from Redditor tekzlol, the British Cayman owner parked his Porsche right behind a police van holding a rear-facing speed camera and lifted the luggage compartment lid for the perfect view-blocking posture. We'll throw in the mandatory grain of salt here, though.
The man then reportedly left his Porsche parked like that, heading across the street to a pub. Notice that we're talking about a 981 Cayman, which has only been retired for less than a month, having been replaced with the 718 Cayman that has yet to hit the road - police interaction not considered, this guy was daring enough to let his still-damn-expensive German sportscar like that.
We're not quite sure how many countries still have legal loopholes that see such adventures remaining unpunished, though. For one thing, the story seen here could probably be filed under obstruction of a Police duty. Then again, such matters need to be proved in court and we bet there are plenty of drivers out there who are willing to take such a chance in the never-ending war between speeders and law enforcement.
Did the man do it for pub discussion glory or was it the ancestral speeding spirit that determined him to pull such a stunt? Guess we'll never know, but we're probably forced to ask you not to try this at home.
