Porsche Details Panamera Sport Turismo Design Process

We talked at great length in an editorial article about why we say Porsche should only build the Panamera as a sportbrake or sporty estate model, because it just looks so much better than the current production model. The Sport Turismo's body design grants it much better proportions, and the car has a much more planted look.
Now, Porsche have released a video detailing the design process for the Sport Turismo, and the philosophy behind it. They say that the company builds sports cars no matter what body style those cars may have, and they try to keep the look of the car as close to what people expect from a Porsche as possible.

Mitja Borkert, the General Manager of Porsche Advanced design said: "The Panamera has one body style today, the body style of a four-door coupe. We were intrigued by the idea of developing another version for Porsche - in other words to design a version of a sporty Panamera, a sports station wagon."

Also, with the new estate or station wagon approach, the already practical Panamera is made even more so, thanks to an expectedly larger boot, which can swallow up larger loads. Still, they fail to mention whether or not the car, in the current form, will actually go into production, but we sill have a hunch that it might...
