Porsche Design Released Men's Shoes Collection

The German designers have just revealed details on the 2010 Spring / Summer shoe collection, comprising a total of four designs which range from classically formal to more relaxed sports styles. According to Porsche Design, the shoes are manufactured in Italy in cooperation with Muller & Meirer Lederwarenfabrik.

The new Porsche Design shoe collection offers Milano, Tokyo, New York and Berlin lines, each of them destined for a different use. All of the shoes in the collection feature a C-tech carbon-look fabric element, also used in the CL2 luggage range.

According to the designers, the soles have been inspired by the double-clutching action when driving a car, where "the left foot works independently from the right" (really?!). Taking all this into consideration, all models have non-slip TPU soles with two different profiles.

Therefore, the outside of the right sole has a row of grooves along its length for a firm grip and quick change from accelerator pedal to brake. The left sole on the other hand, only has a non-slip structure to ensure the best grip to the clutch foot when changing gear.

Another unique feature is the open ankle spring, which connects the heel to the front of the shoe, preventing the heel from tipping. The steel spring used up to now is replaced by a metal element, visibly integrated into the sole. The unusual design and special shape of the aluminum wedge provides the foot with lateral stability, while supporting the natural rolling movement.

The collection’s color palette includes Porsche Design classics Black, White and Titanium Grey as well as a dark Brown. The uppers of the shoes are made of soft, Italian calfskin. The new show collection will become available starting from early-2010.
