When you say Porsche Design, you already know what to expect. These people don’t just create lifestyle products; they want to inspire style and luxury with every unit that leaves their offices in Solothurn, Switzerland. The high-end company has been silently working on their first complete series of timepieces developed entirely independently by the premium brand. It’s not just a new model watch, the Germans claim this collection is based on the principles of Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche himself.
Before you get all excited, you should know that the series will be officially launched in July, so we’re going to settle for merely admiring these beauties for now.

Named the Cronotimers Series 1, Porsche Design’s first in-house timepiece collection features a high-quality titanium case, which gives each unit its unmistakable look. However, the company is looking to satisfy any future customer, so the timepieces come in a variety of finishes and material choices for the strap.

High-quality leather, high-tech fabric, titanium, and rubber are at one’s disposal and allegedly add a personal touch to the experience. Bezels in the Chronotimers Series 1 are available in black, titanium or 18-carat rose gold while the colors of the dials come in either black, carbon or deep blue.

As to the Ferdinand Alexander Porsche connection, they mention things such as optimal readability, technical perfection, the highest quality materials and a puristic design. Porsche Design claims the characteristics of the first entirely independently designed series of the timepieces are the fact they are timeless and modern.

In terms of specs, we are looking at a 42 millimeters case that is powered by a mechanical ETA Valjoux 7750 chronograph movement, with a power reserve of 48 hours and a date display at 3 o`clock. The black-tinted sapphire crystal case back that shows the inner workings of the exclusive, energy optimized Porsche Design rotor completes the eccentric look.

P.S.: Even though they claim it's the first collection of timepieces Porsche Design creates in-house, we just remembered of the Timepiece No.1 and Chronograph Titanium Limited Edition we wrote about last year. The watches were the first to be produced under the new configuration, after more than 40 years of successful cooperation with renowned watchmakers. So it's safe to assume that technically the Cronotimers 1 is not the first collection built in-house.
