Porsche Design Launches Sportster Sledge

You probably had a sledge in your childhood or borrowed one from your friends, but we're pretty sure nothing can be compared with Porsche Design's new winter gadget. Maybe that was the last thing on your mind Porsche Design would come up with, but since it's the season of snow and ice, their new product seems to be a profitable winter business.

So, if you like winter sports or have kids who do, you might be interested in the Porsche Sportster Sledge (via Gentlemansgadgets). But taking into consideration that with some applied wax and a steep slope, it might go 0-60 in about the same time as a Porsche 911 GT2, we're not talking about an ordinary sled. The price isn't ordinary either, as $490 is not what you would normally pay for a gadget of the kind.

But hey, hold your horses, we're speaking about Porsche and about an astonishing aluminum sledge featuring an unique style with clean lines and a minimalist design! Besides, at this price, we would have expected to find more about its braking and handling systems.

If out of the ordinary is the middle name of the sledge as it seems to be, then its owner's feet should be definitely spared of the effort of braking like in ordinary sleds. What about the safety? Has it been already tested for user protection or for other slope user safety?!

Moreover, it wouldn't have been bad at all if they equipped their sled with headlights for night sledding. Not to mention the comfort which should be clearly superior to that of a normal stiff board found on ordinary sleds!

In this way, their winter gadget would have truly sparkled out of the crowd. Until then, Porsche Sportster Sled is nothing but a metal aggregation capable of carrying up to 100 kg after the most copious breakfast ever!
