Porsche Design BlackBerry P'9981 Launched in India, Canada

Porsche Design has gone into a whole new category of tangent luxury goods with their partner in all things smartphone, BlackBerry.
The P’9981 builds on the BlackBerry Bold 9900 with added luxury features, such as a stainless steel front (including the keypad). Meanwhile, in typical BB fashion, the backside is covered in Black leather.

The P’9981 was unveiled last year on October 27th at an even held at the Burj Khalifa
in Dubai, the tallest building in the world. We originally expected it to only be available in Britain and the Arab Emirates, but the past week or so, it has been introduced in a number of new markets.


The Porsche Design P'9981 smartphone is available at select BlackBerry Premium and BlackBerry Exclusive stores in India for 1.4 lacks or INR 139,990 to be more precise, which is USD 2,455 at today’s exchange rates.

Meanwhile the launch in Canada took place at the beginning of last week. The phone is only available at the Porsche Design store in Toronto, and retails for a CAD 1,899, which is USD 2,372 at today’s exchange rate.

The phone comes with a 1.2 GHz processor and boasts Liquid Graphics technology. It comes with built-in 8 GM memory that can be expanded to 40 GB with a microSD card. Te P’9981 will film in HD and comes with a 5 megapixel camera.
