When you hear Porsche the first thing that pops in your head is that beautiful 911 Carrera S. But being one of the most popular sportscars in the game is not the only thing the Germans stand for. The Design subsidiary based in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany is also quite famous for their partnerships with all sorts of accessories including gadgetry.
Porsche Design and BlackBerry have once again partnered up to release a new model of their exclusive collection, the new P’9984 Graphite Smartphone. The eccentric luxury gizmo is for the smartphone industry what blacked-out customization is for the tuning one. Or at least this is how we want to look at it.
The new phone provides exclusive graphite-metallic colored elements and the finest, hand-wrapped leather on the back door cover. Exclusively designed by Porsche Design and engineered using the highest quality materials, the keyboard comes with an exclusive keypad with specially crafted glass-like keys with the durability of rigid synthetic material. A blackened glass and a graphite stainless steel color frame complete the eccentric design.
“The iconic styling of the new P’9983 Graphite from BlackBerry is technically inspired with longevity, integrity, and individuality at its core. And it will offer a new way to express individual style with the luxury of being one step ahead,” said Roland Heiler, Chief Design Officer of the Porsche Design Group.
In specs, we’re looking at something similar to its predecessor, as the P’9983 Graphite features a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3.1-inch 720 x 720 Super AMOLED screen, a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal memory. The price, on the other hand, will most likely make you think twice before buying one since it’s rated at $1,950.
