With the Porsche Cayman GT4 and the Boxster Spyder battling for our attention, it’s easy to forget just how special the Cayman GTS is. Fret not GTS aficionados, we are here to bring this Cayman flavor back into the spotlight and we’ll do it with the help of an example that’s proud to display its new pair of shoes.
This Cayman GTS was gifted with a set of HRE Wheels, which feature a design that adds to the sportscar’s technical appearance. We are talking about HRE P101 rims that feature a multi-spoke layout and display the kind of fitment that pleases the eye.

The front wheels come in a 20x8.5-inch size, while those at the rear come in a 20x9.5-inch size. As for the Michelin rubber used here, the front tires measure 235/35 R20, while the back ones come in a 265/35 R20 size.

The GTS keeps the Cayman S’ 3.4-liter flat six, but squeezes an extra 15 hp and 7 lb-ft (9.5 Nm) of torque, delivering 340 hp and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) of twist. Those who wish to skip the seven-speed PDK gearbox can have the GTS with a six-speed manual.

When fitted with the PDK, the Cayman GTS can deal with the 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint in 4.1 seconds, but Zuffenhausen is known for its conservative figures, so seeing this one under the 4-second mark should come as no surprise.

As for the $76,915 sticker price of the Cayman GTS, well, it all depends on how you regard the matter. If you see this strictly as a Cayman, then we’re talking about a lot of money. Nevertheless, some like to look at the mid-engined GTS as if it were an entry-level 911 Carrera offered for 10 grand less.
