Porsche has recently published its financial results for the fiscal year 2015 (it ended in March) and one of the conclusions was that the Macan outsold the 911, Cayman, Boxster, 918 and Panamera combined. But Zuffenhausen's sporty crossover wouldn't be what it is without the carmaker's two-door offerings, so it's time to give credit where credit is due.
And we believe a Cayman GT4 with a vanity plate such as the one you can see in the image above deserves tons of credit. This example of the GT division's only three-pedal offering (for now) was spotted just where it belongs, namely at the track. The Cayman was playing around on Circuit Of The Americas (COTA), with the pic coming to our attention thanks to Reddit.

Those of you following Porsche know that, over the last decade or so, the carmaker has been constantly improving the skill that allows it to always land on its feet, usually on the podium.

Whether it's in terms of customer satisfaction, Le Mans wins or remaining largely unaffected by the VW Dieselgate saga, Porsche knows how to grab the trophy.

The Germans obviously also have less shining parts and manual transmissions represent just such an area. After the 991 generation 911's 7-speed manual failed to impress, Porsche decided to offer its GT3 and GT3 RS in PDK-only form.

Fortunately for us, the people who love sweet automobiles, the automaker has paid attention to customer and media feedback, which is how the 911 R was born. Sure, a manual 911 that's being built in 991 units, with all of them sold out is not a complete answer.

However, Porsche is expected to fit the most affordable GT-massaged 911, namely the GT3, with a manual starting from the next generation, with this being part of a greater plan that will see the company paying more attention to clutches.

But since the next 911 is expected to land around 2020 and also bring a hybrid, we have plenty of time to discuss the possibilities.
