Porsche Cayman GT4 Laps Nurburgring, Gets Wrecked in 186 MPH Crash Outside Track

The Nurburgring... hasn't claimed another Porsche and that's because the wrecked Cayman GT4 we're looking at has crashed in the outside the infamous German circuit.

It seems that the driver of the mid-engined special did lap the Nordschleife, but decided to also hoon the car on his way back from the track.

And by "hoon" we mean a top speed run. Check out the cabin image of the car (via Magazin ProDriver CZ) and you'll notice the Euro-spec speedo of the car locked at just over 300 km/h (186 mph).

Sure, we can't be 100 percent certain about the exact speed the 911-engined Cayman was doind when its driver lost control, but you can expect the said value to be pretty close to the 183 mph (294.6 km/h) official maximum velocity of the Zuffenhausen machine.

Oh, and as a bonus, it appears that the GT4 was being driven on a wet road at the time. This would explain why the guy behind the wheel lost the car on what appears to be a straight section of the road.

The crash saw the Porsche literally going downhill and, given the triple-digit scenario we're talking about, it's amazing that the car doesn't show ever more serious damage.

The passive safety of the sportscar seems to have done its job extremely well and yet we are advising the faint-hearted not to zoom in on the images of what was once a Porsche Cayman GT4.

According to the Facebook page mentioned above, both the driver and the passenger survived the accident, while also being able to exit the car on their own. Nevertheless, they did require medical attention, which is why the two were taken to the hospital.

Given the fact that we're talking about a Neunelfer-engined limited edition here, this loss will be mourned by plenty of Porschephilles out there.
