Porsche Cayman GT4 Drives through a Different Kind of Green Hell

There are two things featuring in most petrolheads' wet dreams: a true sports car with perfect handling and a nice, winding road with good asphalt and light traffic.

Usually, we wake up before the two overlap and we get to drive the car over said road, but luckily some people have managed to include a set of GoPro cameras into their dream and filmed the whole process for us.

The choice of car could not have been any better. While the Porsche 911 gets all the fame due to its impressive heritage, some people actually consider the smaller Cayman to be at least just as enjoyable to drive. On a tight road like this where top speed isn't really something to take into account, the Cayman can prove to be the perfect weapon.

And this isn't your ordinary Cayman, but the GT4 version. It comes with the largest engine in the Cayman range - a 3.8-liter boxer - and, of course, the most amount of power - 385 hp available at 7,400 rpm. Zero to sixty takes 4.2 seconds and the top speed is rated at 183 mph (295 km/h).

But the two main things to remember are the large wing at the back and the sound coming out of that central double exhaust.

There's also a strange simplicity about the video that I find extremely appealing. There were moments when it reminded me of the famous "C'était un rendez-vous", the short clip filmed by Claude Lelouch exclusively from the bumper of his Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9 racing through Paris with a Ferrari engine soundtrack.

Don't expect to see any heroics, any extreme driving or near-misses, it's simply the perfect video to make you want to take your car and leave town in search of a similar road. Trust us, it really doesn't matter what car you're driving, you can still have fun. Not as much fun as in a Porsche Cayman GT4, but fun nonetheless.
