With traffic as heavy as that found in London, accidents that take place in the British capital can sometimes bring sportscar drivers down. We mean this in a literal sense, as we are here to discuss a Porsche that ended by being ridden by a van.
As you can see in the video below, we are talking about a current-generation Cayman, with the Coupe being trapped under the Mercedes commercial vehicle.
While it is unclear how the van ended up crushing the Cayman, various reports indicate this scene was part of a multi-vehicle accident.
As Manchester Evening News writes, the crash took place right after 8am this morning, in the proximity of Machester’s Piccadilly Station Fairfield Street.
Unfortunately, the van spent more than a few brief moments riding the mid-engined Zuffenhausen machine. While we know the authorities needed around two hours to clear the scene of the accident, we’re not sure exactly how long the Mercedes-Benz sat atop the Porsche. However, we can be certain that it was enough to bring serious consequences.
Police explained one of the drivers suffered back injuries following the accident, but they confirmed nobody was seriously hurt as a result of the accident.
Unfortunately, we can’t say the same about the Porsche. From the extensive bodywork damage and the broken windows to the deployed airbags, this Cayman is in bad shape. And with all that weight over it, the mechanical side of the car wasn’t exactly babied during the dark event.
