Porsche Cayenne S Diesel Starts at $250,000 in Malaysia

The most powerful diesel engine ever offered on by Porsche made its official debut in Malaysia a party held by the official importer. The model in question is, of course, the Cayenne S Diesel, the perfect blend between power and economy.

At its heart, the S Diesel has a 4.2-liter turbo diesel V8 engine based on the one offered by VW's Touareg, but producing a much more impressive 382 hp and 850 Nm. That makes it 142 hp more meaty than the regular Cayenne Diesel. It’s also more powerful than the Touareg 4.2 TDI, whch has 340 hp and 800 Nm of torque (590 lb-ft).

All the power channels itself through the four massive wheels and pulls this luxury SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 157 mph (253 km/h).

If you're thinking Malaysians are going to buy it for the money they'll be saving at the pump, you're sadly mistaken though. Just like the Turbo S, the S Diesel is massively expensive, costing RM750,000 or just shy of $250,000 at today's exchange rate. That probably buys a lifetime supply of fuel!
